Character Information
Character Name: Johnny Blaze (Ghost Rider)
Canon: Marvel 616
Canon Point: Post-Heaven’s On Fire
Is your character Dead, Undead or Alive: Undead
History: https://marvel.com/universe/Ghost_Rider_(John_Blaze)
Personality: To help start things off, I will say that Johnny is a rather calm and cool type of person who fancies himself as a loner. He often seems to battle with a growing, inner depression while attempting to live his life despite not being capable of ever truly going back to the way he was before
Due to the fact that he is often afraid of putting the ones he cares for in danger, as well as having others who are afraid of him in return, Johnny tends to try and keep to himself. He is a self-styled loner who often does not like to work with others do to bad experiences in the past with the Champions. That is not to say that he cannot be a team player of course. Just that he feels as though he normally does not work well with others.
It is also because of his fear of harming others that he is typically calm and collected. It has been showcased before that it can take quite a bit to make Johnny truly angry, to the point where he would willingly unleash the power of the Rider on somebody; something that happens only rarely as he does not view the Spirit of Vengeance as a tool for petty brawls. In fact the only times that he ever seems to become truly angered is either when his life has been endangered, he has been betrayed, or a great injustice has befallen an innocent individual.
His calm and cool could also be attributed to the many deaths of loved ones that had occurred around him, as well as his own turmoil that such tragedies had caused. It also helps to show that, despite how cool he attempts to be, he is also a very emotional person. Though he attempts to keep his emotions in check, he can be seen brooding in thought. This is a man who had lost just about everything he had cared for after all. He seems to be going through his own depression as a result as well. He does not enjoy being the Rider and would sometimes seek a way to remove the curse from himself. Though he has never really sought to actually commit suicide (it probably would not work anyways), he does not seem to think very highly of himself either. Not to mention the struggles he undergoes in attempting to keep the Spirit of Vengeance within him in check almost constantly, a feat that would tire out any man.
One could also say that it was because of the losses he has experienced, that he does not like to see innocent, good-natured, people be harmed. He had even attempted to ignore Satan himself in order to save the lives of those who had been endangered. Johnny also seems to have a weak spot for children. Being a father who had lost his own kids, Johnny does not like to see children suffer, at all; often pulling out all the stops to save kids from harm, even when odds are stacked extremely high against him.
Of course we are not just talking about Johnny here either. Fused to his soul, as mentioned before, is another entity known as the Spirit of Vengeance, an angel. The Spirit is typically very straight forward and business like in its motivations. Often torn between following Johnny’s lead, and blazing its own, it is typically very headstrong to the point of being somewhat arrogant. And it has reason to be.
It knows just how powerful it is capable of being without Johnny’s consciousness interfering with it. But unlike Zarathos had been, it does not seem to wish to have complete control, just every now and then when it disagrees with Johnny. The Spirit does not really care for what it deems to be distractions, whether that distraction being a burning barn full of trapped children, or a plane filled with innocents. If it has a goal in mind, it goes after it, and God help whoever, or whatever, gets in its way.
With that being said, in cases where innocents have been placed in danger and the cause for that danger is in front of it, the Spirit seems to become confused as to how it should act. Often pausing for a short period of time in order to process what needs to be done. Usually at this point Johnny’s consciousness pops up to try and steer the Spirit towards saving the innocents. Though as stated above, the Spirit usually only has a one tract mind.
This can also lead to much conflict between the Spirit and its host. At times both it and Johnny do not fully agree on what needs to be done; something that can lead to Johnny often reprimanding the Spirit, and vise-versa. Something that, in certain situations, can lead to the Spirit attempting to coerce Johnny into letting it take control to fight instead, something that Johnny never allows unless it is absolutely necessary.
Items on your character at canon point: The clothes on his back.
Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses: According to Doctor Strange, the Ghost Rider has god-like power…when not being limited by Johnny himself.
Hellfire: As the Ghost Rider, Johnny can summon, and control the fires of Hell itself as a tool to either burn someone or something physically, or to burn their very soul itself, something that has been said to be extremely painful. He has also been shown being capable of forming weapons and shapes out of the flames, as well as raining it down from the skies.
Mystic Chains: He is also capable of summoning an endless amount of chains from his own body. They are controlled by Johnny through his subconscious and can be turned into any weapon he wants, making his chains a very versatile tool, and one of his most useful.
Durability: Johnny has been shown to take some incredible punishment as the rider. From dismemberment to being shot, he has experienced it all. Most weapons seem to go through him, bounce off his bones, or be destroyed by the fire he is composed of. When he does face dismemberment, the limb grows back, the only things that seem to really cause the rider any significant damage are weapons forged from Heaven itself. He has also showcased an inability to be harmed by toxins while in his Rider form as well. And has returned from the dead before as well, Hell couldn’t hold his soul due in part to the Rider.
Strength: The Ghost Rider is shown to be capable of great feats of strength as well and is said to be capable of lifting well over 20 tons.
Stamina: As the Ghost Rider, Johnny is incapable of feeling fatigue do to the mystical forces that empower him.
Hellcycle: Though he seems to be capable of doing with any vehicle, as well as weapon, Johnny is able to transform his motorcycle in into a hellish vehicle. One that is much faster, stronger and more durable than the original, can follow his mental commands and travel up vertical surfaces and across water.
And of course, the Penance Stare: The Stare essentially makes the person facing it feel each and every sin that they had ever committed, a thousand fold all at once. All of the pain, fear, sadness…all of it, being flung back at you as your soul is destroyed.
Weaknesses: Johnny himself is the Rider’s greatest weakness. While in control, Johnny acts as a sort of limiter for the Rider’s powers, severally hampering their powers as a whole. Plus it has been shown that, when human, Johnny is capable of being harmed as well.

Network/Action Spam Sample: [Johnny was not certain if he should impressed or not. He has traveled between planes before, of course, but to be forcibly pulled from one dimension to another by someone who was not a Ghost Rider was quite a feat, one that he does not wish to happen again, not to him, or anyone else.]
So, can anyone tell me if there’s a place where a fella’ can find some bike parts in this dump?
[Priorities, he has them. What is a Ghost Rider without his ride after all; the same as a stuntman without his ride, nothing. Both of which, he is, besides, if he has a side project to work on it might help him keep his calm instead of trying to just up and blow this popsicle stand. The people here need all of the help they can get after all.]
Or, ya know, who you are and what you do here? [For some strange reason he felt rather silly right now, as though he was talking to an empty box in the middle of a crowd of people. And the people were all pointing and staring. Not exactly a very good feeling at all. But he would wait for a reply, there has to be at least one person here that would talk to him after all. One...he just needed to have some patience.]
Prose Log Sample:
It’s been years since he had last seen anything resembling of his past life. One that is long gone by now, Roxxane, Craig and Emma, gone; long, long gone by now. He doesn’t even know where they were buried. However, it was comforting to his soul that they were in Paradise now, something that he as a man could never truly give them.
The Rider stirred from within him, but did not seem to comment on the thought, it never seems to do so often.
Dan and Sara did not seem to take notice of him being lost in his thoughts as the trio road together down the road. How long has he been riding down the highways of the United States and the world?
Certainly it has been far, far too long.
Yet he could not stop, where was he to go? What was he to do? This is his life, and has been for quite some time now. He was starting to slow down, so he sped up to ride along his companions. He was so used to riding alone, by himself, that it was odd to be seeing somebody alongside of him that he could follow, and trust; people who were not afraid of him and did not wish him any ill will. And while it may sound sympathetic, this was as close a thing to family as he has experienced for a long time. With one being his actual brother and the other being the new Caretaker.
Johnny hoped it would last for a while. He was tired of riding alone, and riding in general. He was tired of being cursed and just tired in general. Maybe that was the lack of sleep talking though? Whatever the case maybe, he wished to enjoy it for just a few moments longer. It would make the ride be that much easier on his soul.
